VLISCO WOMEN’S MONTH AMBASSADORS 2014 ARE REVEALED

24 April 2014 – We proudly present six new Vlisco Ambassadors for the year 2014. These ambassadors and at the same time winners of the Vlisco Women’s Month Award from Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Togo, Ivory Coast and The Democratic Republic of the Congo were revealed during a special ‘Night of Dreams Award Show’ which took place at the end of last March. During the whole month of March, we honoured the outstanding achievements of West and Central African women by identifying and rewarding those who inspire others to realize their dreams. The ambassadors will play an important role in various Vlisco brand activities throughout the year and, more important, they will further inspire women in their country via activities in and outside their network.

Overview winners 2014

The Vlisco Ambassadors for the year of 2014 are:

  • Adesuwa Onyenokwe, Publisher and Editor in Chief of TW Magazine, Nigeria
  • Adonis Koffi, Professor of paediatrics, Ivory Coast
  • Aimée Abra Tenu, Director of the Sainte Thérèse de l’Enfant Jésus (STEJ Togo) NGO; promoter of Zam-Ké, ViViFruits and Kari-Kari products, Togo
  • Eugenia Mawuena Adjoa Tachie-Menson, Social entrepreneur, Ghana
  • Monique Kotchofa Faihun, Bailiff, Benin
  • Patience Barandenge, National officer for the market of women entrepreneurs, the Democratic Republic of Congo

 

In each of those countries, 3 or 4 inspirational women have been telling their success stories throughout the month of March to inspire women in their country. At the end of March, one of those women has been elected as Women’s Month Winner by public vote, winning a year of unique ambassadorship for the brand of Vlisco.

Follow the winners

As an Ambassador of Vlisco she will represent our brand in public events, play an important role in various brand activities throughout the year and most importantly she will further inspire women in her country via (social) activities in and outside her network. Her first international activity will take place this June, when she will be travelling to the Netherlands with her colleague Ambassadors for an intensive 3-day trip where the ambassadors will be learning more about our products and brand, visit the factory in Helmond and discover the Netherlands.
